Our recent trip to the White Mountains of Arizona

On August 20 Terry's uncle Wallace Burk (93) of Eagar, Arizona passed away. He was the last of Joseph and Clara Burk's children, all having preceeded him in death. It was very important to us to be in attendance at his funeral services which were held in his home ward in Eagar on Monday, August 25. We drove down from Rexburg, Idaho where we have been visiting with our son Jeffery and his wife Kristi and their four girls these past two months. It gave us the opportunity to see our three daughters, Kelly, Rebecca and Ann and their husbands and children, all three now living in the White Mountain area. We stayed at Ann and Steve's in Linden. We arrived in time for a picnic with all of them on Saturday, Aug 23, and the chance to attend church with Rebecca and Ann and families on Sunday and a birthday BBQ for our ganddaughter Catelyn at Kelly's in Taylor, Monday evening. What a blessing to be able to see and be with these dear members of our family!

The funeral services for Uncle Wallace brought us into brief but happy association for a few precious moments with our Burk cousins and their families, the growing posterity of Joseph and Clara Burk. We are part of the remaining generation of Grandpa Burk's grandchilren that must now take responsibility for keeping this Burk family connected.

It rained during the funeral services Monday morning; quite raining for the brief time at the dedication of the grave in the nearby Eagar Cemetary, and began again shortly after the dedicatory prayer. We have never seen the White Mountains so beautifully green! The recent rains of this summer time have blessed this choice area that means so much to us because of our heritage.
